1. Use proto_tree_add_item_ret_uint to remove separate "gets"
2. Remove if (tree)s that prevented expert_info
3. Apply consistent whitespace
4. Apply consistent TLV behavior, making T and L always filterable
5. Remove T name (of TLV) from field name itself (where applicable)
6. Use BASE_UNIT_STRING and BASE_NO_DISPLAY_VALUE
Tested with capture generated from https://github.com/AdrianSimionov/docsis-generator

They already know who they are when they register themselves. Saving the
handle then to avoid finding it later.
Not sure if this will increase unnecessary register_dissector functions
(instead of using create_dissector_handle in proto_reg_handoff function)
when other dissectors copy/paste, but it should make startup time
a few microseconds better.

keys to have _uint in their names, to match the routines that handle
dissector tables with string keys. (Using _port can confuse people into
thinking they're intended solely for use with TCP/UDP/etc. ports when,
in fact, they work better for things such as Ethernet types, where the
binding of particular values to particular protocols are a lot
stronger.)

With the exception of docsis's packet-tlv.c file, these are all simple problems
with the prefix not exactly set to PROTOABBREV. For example, for
packet-bpkmattr.c, the field names are prefixed with "docsis.bpkmattr." instead
of "docsis_bpkmattr.".
packet-tlv.c had one mis-named field, namely "docsis.cos.sid". It has been
changed to "docsis_tlv.cos.sid" in the patch to be attached, which includes
patches for 29 files in the plugins/docsis/ directory ...

Introduce a new init routine for plugins,
which does not take the plugin api table as an
argument and allows etheral to distinguish
between plugins using the old and the new api.
Update README.plugins accordingly
Change all g_warnings() in epan/plugins.c to report_failue().
On windows we do not have a log console open while
loading the plugins, because a log console cannot be opened before the prefs have been read. Thus g_warnings()
does not work for reporting problems with plugins.

hopefully this means that if a CR/LF version is checked in on Windows,
the CRs will be stripped so that they show up only when checked out on
Windows, not on UN*X.

DOCSIS support, including support for "Ethernet" captures where
the raw frame is a DOCSIS frame rather than an Ethernet

the raw bytes of DOCSIS frames, not Ethernet frames)
