2003-12-23Have "tvb_ensure_length_remaining()" throw the appropriate exception ifguy1-4/+1
there's no data remaining - its callers largely depend on it doing so. That means that the BEEP dissector doesn't have to check for it returning 0. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@9433 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2003-07-25Remove some warnings from gcc.gram1-1/+3

2002-11-28Arguments to hash routines are gconstpointer's; assign them to constguy1-4/+4
pointers. The first argument to "sscanf()" is a "const char *"; don't cast const pointers to "char *" when passing them to "sscanf()". Assign the result of "tvb_get_ptr()" to const pointers, not non-const pointers. Make the "pdata" argument to various DCE routines a const pointer. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@6688 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-08-28Removed trailing whitespaces from .h and .c files using thejmayer1-69/+69
winapi_cleanup tool written by Patrik Stridvall for the wine project. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@6117 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-08-02Replace the types from sys/types.h and netinet/in.h by their glib.hjmayer1-9/+1
equivalents for the toplevel directory. The removal of winsock2.h will hopefully not cause any problems under MSVC++, as those files using struct timeval still include wtap.h, which still includes winsock2.h. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@5932 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-06-13From Peter Hawkins: fix the maximum length argument to "tvb_memcpy()".guy1-3/+5

2002-04-29Un-#if out "dissect_beep_status()", to serve as a reminder to either getguy1-3/+1
rid of it or use it. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@5290 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-04-29Removal (or, at least, #ifdeffing out) of unused variables andguy1-1/+3
functions, from David Frascone. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@5288 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-04-08From Joerg Mayer; get rid of unused arguments, and make some variablesguy1-17/+17
not used outside "packet-beep.c" static. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@5120 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-02-01Provide tvb_ensure_length_remaining(), which is likegram1-2/+2
tvb_length_remaining() except that it throws BoundsError if 'offset' is out-of-bounds. Allow a length argument of -1 for FT_STRING and FT_BYTES fields in proto_tree_add_item(). Change some dissectors to either use -1 for the length argument in calls to proto_tree_add_item(), or call tvb_ensure_length_remaining() instead of tvb_length_remaining(), or to check the return-value of tvb_length_remaining(). Changes to more dissectors are necessary, but will follow later. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@4656 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-01-24Replace a bunch of "tvb_length()" and "tvb_length_remaining()" calls inguy1-2/+2
arguments to "proto_tree_add_text()", and to "proto_tree_add_XXX()" calls that add FT_NONE or FT_PROTO items to the protocol tree, with -1. Replace some calls to "tvb_length()" or "tvb_length_remaining()" with calls to "tvb_reported_length()" and "tvb_reported_length_remaining()", as those give the actual length of the data in the packet, not just the data that happened to be captured. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@4605 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2002-01-21Include files from the "epan" directory and subdirectories thereof withguy1-4/+4
"epan/..." pathnames, so as to avoid collisions with header files in any of the directories in which we look (e.g., "proto.h", as some other package has its own "proto.h" file which it installs in the top-level include directory). Don't add "-I" flags to search "epan", as that's no longer necessary (and we want includes of "epan" headers to fail if the "epan/" is left out, so that we don't re-introduce includes lacking "epan/"). git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@4586 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
2001-12-10Move the pointer to the "column_info" structure in the "frame_data"guy1-5/+5
structure to the "packet_info" structure; only stuff that's permanently stored with each frame should be in the "frame_data" structure, and the "column_info" structure is not guaranteed to hold the column values for that frame at all times - it was only in the "frame_data" structure so that it could be passed to dissectors, and, as all dissectors are now passed a pointer to a "packet_info" structure, it could just as well be put in the "packet_info" structure. That saves memory, by shrinking the "frame_data" structure (there's one of those per frame), and also lets us clean up the code a bit. git-svn-id: http://anonsvn.wireshark.org/wireshark/trunk@4370 f5534014-38df-0310-8fa8-9805f1628bb7
