2015-11-14register_dissector -> new_register_dissectorMichael Mann1-13/+12
Picking off "easy" dissectors that only have one or two exit points at most. This concludes a "first pass" over the dissector directory. 2015-04-30Fix some cases where we're shifting a signed 1 left.Guy Harris1-35/+35
Shift 1U instead, to make sure it's unsigned; the result of, for example, the result of shifting a signed value left is undefined if the value times 2^{shift count} doesn't fit in the *signed* type of the shifted value. That means, in particular, that the result of shifting 1 left by {number of bits in an int - 1} is undefined. (In *practice*, it'll probably be -2^32, with the bit you want set, but that's not guaranteed, and GCC 5.1 seems not to like it.) 2015-04-13Add more "bitmask grouping" APIs.Michael Mann1-57/+31
Add proto_tree_add_bitmask_value, proto_tree_add_bitmask_value_with_flags and proto_tree_add_bitmask_list to aid in the removal of proto_tree_add_boolean "groupings" as well as "groups" of fields that use proto_tree_add_item with the same offset/len. This may be able to be optimized later, but the first step will be converting dissectors to use it. A sample conversion of each API is also included. 2014-12-21Cleanup use of #includes in non-generated epan/dissector/*.cBill Meier1-3/+1
Specifically: - Set packet.h to be the first wireshark #include after config.h and "system" #includes. packet.h added as an #include in some cases when missing. - Remove some #includes included (directly/indirectly) in packet.h. E.g., glib.h. (Done only for those files including packet.h). - As needed, move "system" #includes to be after config.h and before wireshark #includes. - Rework various #include file specifications for consistency. - Misc. 2014-04-12Get rid of more tvb_get_nstringz* calls.Guy Harris1-18/+10
Add an FT_STRINGZPAD type, for null-padded strings (typically fixed-length fields, where the string can be up to the length of the field, and is null-padded if it's shorter than that), and use it. Use IS_FT_STRING() in more cases, so that less code needs to know what types are string types. Add a tvb_get_stringzpad() routine, which gets null-padded strings. Currently, it does the same thing that tvb_get_string_enc() does, but that might change if we don't store string values as null-terminated strings. dcerpc_info* infomation be passed in as a function parameter. Bug 9387 (https://bugs.wireshark.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9387) All "generated" source was manually modified (with the power of search/replace), but I believe the "source input" files have been adjusted (checked into revs 53098 and 53099) to reflect the necessary changes (with possible whitespace formatting differences). The Microsoft compiler doesn't flag "unused function parameters", so I apologize in advance if I may have missed a few. The "dcerpc_info* di" parameter is used in almost every function. svn path=/trunk/; revision=53100

2013-09-15Convert proto_tree_add_uint_format to proto_tree_add_uint_format_value if ↵Michael Mann1-6/+6
hf_ field name is the first part of the formatted string. This was done with a perl script on the dissectors directory (packet-*.c), followed by manual inspection of the output. The manual inspection yielded a few cases that really should have been proto_tree_add_uint or proto_tree_add_item, so I updated them accordingly. The script didn't catch as many as I would have liked, but it's a start. The most common (ab)use of proto_tree_add_uint_format was for appending strings to CRC/checksum values to note good or bad CRC/checksum. svn path=/trunk/; revision=52045
