2011-09-16Remove blanks before \n in output stringsStefan Weil1-2/+2
Those blanks violate the coding conventions, see scripts/checkpatch.pl. Blanks missing after colons in the changed lines were added. This patch does not try to fix tabs, long lines and other problems in the changed lines, therefore checkpatch.pl reports many violations. 2011-08-05Avoid allocating TCG resources in non-TCG modeJan Kiszka1-2/+2
Do not allocate TCG-only resources like the translation buffer when running over KVM or XEN. Saves a "few" bytes in the qemu address space and is also conceptually cleaner. Signed-off-by: Jan Kiszka <jan.kiszka@siemens.com> Signed-off-by: Anthony Liguori <aliguori@us.ibm.com>
2011-07-30user: Restore debug usage message for '-d ?' in user mode emulationPeter Maydell1-3/+5
The code which prints the debug usage message on '-d ?' for *-user has to come before the check for "not enough arguments", so that "qemu-foo -d ?" prints the list of possible debug log items rather than the generic usage message. (This was inadvertently broken in commit c235d73.) Signed-off-by: Peter Maydell <peter.maydell@linaro.org> Signed-off-by: Andrzej Zaborowski <andrew.zaborowski@intel.com>

2011-06-15Command line support for altering the log file locationMatthew Fernandez1-18/+27
Add command line support for logging to a location other than /tmp/qemu.log. With logging enabled (command line option -d), the log is written to the hard-coded path /tmp/qemu.log. This patch adds support for writing the log to a different location by passing the -D option. 2011-04-27darwin-user: Remove unneeded null pointer checkStefan Weil1-1/+1
cppcheck reports this error: commpage.c:223: error: Possible null pointer dereference: value - otherwise it is redundant to check if value is null at line 214 The null pointer check in line 214 is indeed not needed. If value were null, the code would crash in line 223. See do_compare_and_swap64 were for a reference. 2010-12-04darwin-user: Use GCC_FMT_ATTR (format checking)Stefan Weil2-2/+2
The redundant forward declaration of qerror in machload.c is removed because it should be taken from qemu.h. Please note that this patch is untested because I have no matching environment to compile it. 2010-10-03Replace most gcc format attributes by macro GCC_FMT_ATTR (format checking)Stefan Weil1-1/+1
Since version 4.4.x, gcc supports additional format attributes. __attribute__ ((format (gnu_printf, 1, 2))) should be used instead of __attribute__ ((format (printf, 1, 2)) because QEMU always uses standard format strings (even with mingw32). The patch replaces format attribute printf / __printf__ by macro GCC_FMT_ATTR which uses gnu_printf if supported. It also removes an #ifdef __GNUC__ (not needed any longer). 2009-12-21PPC: Make DCR uint32_tAlexander Graf1-2/+2
For what I know DCR is always 32 bits wide, so we should also use uint32_t to pass it along the stacks. This fixes a warning when compiling qemu-system-ppc64 with KVM enabled, making it compile without --disable-werror Signed-off-by: Alexander Graf <agraf@suse.de> Signed-off-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net>
2009-12-21PPC64: Fix alternate timebaseAurelien Jarno1-2/+2
Fix the alternate time base the same way as the default timebase. SPR_ATBL should return a 64-bit value on 64 bit implementations. Signed-off-by: Aurelien Jarno <aurelien@aurel32.net>
2009-12-21PPC64: Fix timebaseAlexander Graf1-2/+2
On PPC we have a 64-bit time base. Usually (PPC32) this is accessed using two separate 32 bit SPR accesses to SPR_TBU and SPR_TBL. On PPC64 the SPR_TBL register acts as 64 bit though, so we get the full 64 bits as return value. If we only take the lower ones, fine. But Linux wants to see all 64 bits or it breaks. This patch makes PPC64 Linux work even after TB crossed the 32-bit boundary, which usually happened a few seconds after bootup. 2009-10-01Revert "Get rid of _t suffix"Anthony Liguori3-3/+3
In the very least, a change like this requires discussion on the list. The naming convention is goofy and it causes a massive merge problem. Something like this _must_ be presented on the list first so people can provide input and cope with it. This reverts commit 99a0949b720a0936da2052cb9a46db04ffc6db29. Introduce noreturn attribute and attach it to cpu_loop_exit as well as interrupt/exception helpers for i386. This avoids a bunch of gcc4 warnings.
